Double Chocolate Cake Donuts
Ingredients (Donuts)
• 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
• ½ cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
• ½ tsp baking powder
• ½ tsp baking soda
• ¼ tsp salt
• ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
• ½ cup (120ml) buttermilk (or milk + 1 tsp vinegar)
• 1 large egg
• ¼ cup (60ml) vegetable oil (or melted butter)
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• ½ cup (90g) mini chocolate chips
Chocolate Glaze
• 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
• ¼ cup (25g) unsweetened cocoa powder
• 3–4 tbsp milk
• ½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease a donut pan.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
- In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, egg, oil, and vanilla. Add wet ingredients into dry, mixing gently. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Spoon or pipe batter into donut pan, filling about ¾ full.
- Bake 12–15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool in pan 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- For glaze, whisk powdered sugar, cocoa, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Dip cooled donuts in glaze, then let set. Optionally, sprinkle w
